Policy: Activity

Player availability and activity is a key part of the viability of FFMUX as a game and an environment. We encourage players to make themselves available for scenes by logging in as their schedule permits, even if there doesn’t happen to be anything going on at the moment. With this in mind, FFMUX defines “activity” as each alt being logged in, and participation in a minimum of two scenes a month. More is very much encouraged, especially for our FC players.

The rules for how lack of activity from a character is handled varies by type of character.

FC’s and NFC’s: Lack of activity for 30 days will result in a reminder email being sent to the player’s registered email address as established on the character. If no response is received within 15 days of that, the character is subject to removal and opening for application.

OC’s: Lack of activity for 60 days will result in a reminder email being sent to the player’s registered email address as established on the character. If no response is received within 30 days of that, the character is subject to removal.

If the reminder email to your registered email address bounces, the character is subject to immediate removal in all cases.

+vacation

If you know that you will be away from the game (e.g. super busy or without Internet access) for a period of time, you can use the +vacation command to explain your absence. This need only be set once for all of your alts, and doubles the timeframes given above. Unlike the VACATION flag, this is not reset on login, but +vacation is dated, and the timer begins from the date of the vacation set.

OC’s and NFC’s with +vacation set are subject to removal at the end of the given timeframe regardless; FC’s will automatically be set Open But Played.

Open But Played (OBP)

OBP is a special status granted to FC’s with inactive players who are in communication with the game’s staff. It means that the character has a player, but staff will look at applications for this character in the interest of giving an FC to a more active player if there is interest.

This status does not apply to OC’s, on the grounds that they already have a more generous timeline for activity demands and that they are original creations, which means that nobody else can play them.

OBP expires 90 days after being set; the FC is subject to removal and open for application when this status expires.
